"Henrich Martin's longtime wife and mother of his children was Mary Berghartin, not Mary Frankford. Whether there was an earlier wife who died young is a matter of speculation; however, one would expect her to be included in this Bible record. This discovery prompts a larger question. Where does the name Mary Frankford come from and why have the published genealogies unquestionably accepted this as the name of Henrich Martin's wife? One posibility is that "Frankford" is a mistranslation of the German script, which the above Bible transcription asserts as "Berghartin." per Darvin L.
