GROCE family of Chatham Co., NC - 1800s
By genealogy.com user July 14, 1998 at 01:09:22
I'm researching the GROCE family of Chatham Co., NC. Britton GROCE b. about 1785, had son Guilford GROCE, who had son John Harman GROCE (HARMAN comes from Britton's marriage to Elizabeth HARMAN). John Harman GROCE left Chatham Co. after the Civil War and migrated to Drew Co., AR. There he married Rosanna MAYS (daughter of David). He disappeared about 1880, and I have not been able to find him anywhere. Would certainly like to know what happened to him. I have lots of info on this family - am still trying to tie it to the GROCEs in Surry Co., NC area.
